2. Division: Tax policy and capital markets

The second Division is responsible for tax policy, capital market issues and management of government debt.

In the tax field, the unit is responsible for short- and long-term revenue estimation as well as policy analysis concerning personal income, consumption taxes, business taxes and environmental taxes with emphasis on revenue, income distribution and behavioral effects of the tax system, including the incentive to work, consume, save and invest in physical and human capital.

In the area of capital markets, our work concentrates on the management of government debt and other financial risk exposures of the government sector in close cooperation with Danmarks Nationalbank.

Moreover, the unit provides policy analysis and advice regarding budgetary matters with financial aspects as well as issues related to capital markets in general, including regulatory and financial stability issues.
