State-owned Enterprises and the North Atlantic

The Ministry of Finance’s Division for State-owned Enterprises and the North Atlantic (KSN) is responsible for exercising the ownership of state-owned enterprises under the Ministry of Finance’s department, as well as for maintaining an ongoing overview of the economies of Greenland and the Faroe Islands.

In its work with state-owned enterprises, the division represents the state’s interests as a responsible owner and co-owner of various state-owned enterprises through active and strategic exercise of ownership. This includes contributing to the continuous development of the state-owned enterprises as efficient and well-managed enterprises that make a positive contribution to the Danish economy and society.

The division is also responsible for the ownership policy for state-owned enterprises cross-government with the purpose of supporting a well-functioning framework for the state’s exercise of its ownership and co-ownership of enterprises across the Danish state.

In relation to the economies of Greenland and the Faroe Islands, the division is responsible for budget and appropriations related aspects hereof, including the preparation of the annual Finance Act.

Finally, the division is responsible for the Ministry of Finance’s work with risk premia on government guarantees, on-lending, etc.
