Economic Survey, May 2020

The corona epidemic has serious economic consequences in Denmark where the decline in GDP this year is expected to be greater than during the financial crisis. In 2021 there is prospect of a partial recovery - among other things, on the back of the temporary relief packages that have supported workplaces and businesses.

The corona pandemic has had a significant impact on both the Danish and international economy in a very short time. In Denmark, GDP is expected to decline by around 5¼ per cent this year, and there is prospect of a sharp slowdown especially in the second quarter, the Economic Survey shows.
