Division for Economic Outlook

The Division for Economic Outlook surveils and analyzes the developments in Danish as well as international economic affairs and devises projections for the outlook in the short term.

The main task in the office is the writing of Economic Survey in which the government’s short-term projection is presented. The publication is released three times a year in May, August, and December.

As part of the daily work in the office, both small and larger analyses come out of the office to play a part in Economic Survey. The analyses concern for example the temperature on the housing market, the labour market, or take a closer look at the connection between economic growth and climate change. The work also involves calculations on the macroeconomic model ADAM that, among other, is used to assess the impact of changes in the international economy and consumer behavior etc.

The work of the office lays the foundation for a number of political economic decisions. The tasks at hand are often solved in close contact with other offices in the Ministry of Finance, including for example the Division for the Law Model, Centre for Expenditure Policy, Division for Economic Policy, and Centre for Sustainability and Structural Policy.

The Division for Economic Outlook consists of eight economists and four students.
